Frequently Asked Questions

This could be to do with file size, uploading multiple files, your internet connection or your browser.

File bigger than 500MB?
You can send the file to us at service@doxdirect.com using a third party file transfer service such as:

www.mailbigfile.com
www.wesend.com
www.wetransfer.com

Then email us with your requirements and we’ll reply with a solution for placing your order. The maximum file size we can accept is 750MB.

File smaller than 500MB?
It may have something to do with your internet connection or your browser. Checking your connection or using a different browser may solve the problem. Finally, uploading multiple documents to be merged into one can sometimes take additional time.

Whatever the reason, if you need assistance with uploading your file please Contact Us and we'll help you out.

You can upload PDF, Word, PowerPoint, JPG and PNG files in portrait and landscape format.

If you’re ordering from your mobile device you can upload any of the above file types. iPhone users will need to store PDF and Word files on iCloud in order to access and upload them to Doxdirect.

Yes. If you want your document printed at a non-standard size, please choose ’NS’ from the ‘Size’ dropdown after uploading your file. We will then print and trim the document to the exact size of your file. You can also choose to upload a non-standard size file and have it scaled to fit onto an ‘A’ size sheet (with white space above/below or left/right). Simply choose the size you’d like from the same dropdown.

Note: If your document is a non-standard size and is larger than the height or width of A3 paper (420x297mm) you have two options. Either choose an ‘A’ size to have the document scaled to (with white space above/below or left/right), or produce a new file with the non-standard size artwork placed in the centre of an A2, A1 or A0 sheet with trim marks then click here and choose ‘Poster’ as the product and upload the new file.

The 2007 and 2010 editions of Microsoft Office give you the option of saving an file as a PDF (simply click 'save as' and PDF should appear in the list of options).

For other versions you may be able to click File > Export to convert the file to PDF format.

The file may be corrupted, which occasionally happens when saving a Word or PowerPoint file as a PDF. If you have any trouble, please contact us and we'll see what we can do.
